Scope of the research unit

The Unit aims at teaching and doing research in the domain of Production and Operations Management (POM) along three principal directions based on distict disciplines;

* Empirical research, based on information collection, statistical and econometric data analysis methods, in order to understand production processes, industrial and service logistics. One objective is to improve the conception of production processes.
* Conceptual analysis of organization phenomenons and principles, based on economical models of management, in order to develop general and explanatory models of management practices, in particular in operations management.
* Development of operations research methods for solving management problems, based on mathematical modeling and operations research techniques. This aims at providing enterprises with efficient solution methods for their operations management problems. This activity is developed in collaboration with the operations research team at CORE.
